Wallets

Recommended wallets for LN Markets deposits and withdrawals

To deposit or withdraw, you need a wallet that supports the network you use: Lightning, on-chain Bitcoin, or L-USDT via Liquid. Below are the ones we test against.

Lightning

Also required to sign in via LNURL-auth. Any LNURL-compatible wallet works.

Custodial vs self-custody

TypeTrade-off
CustodialEasiest setup. The wallet provider controls your keys and routing.
Self-custodyYou hold the keys. Requires channel liquidity, but no third party can freeze it.

For active trading you can use either. If you withdraw large amounts and hold them long-term, use a self-custody wallet.
